SIDBI Venture Capital Limited (SVCL) is a wholly owned subsidiary of SIDBI, the apex financial institution created for MSME sector in India. Established in 1999, SVCL has managed funds focussed on different investment modes including startups, early stage technology businesses, manufacturing SMEs, service entities, agri businesses, financial inclusion companies.
SVCL focuses on all stages on investment like startups, early stage technology businesses, manufacturing SMEs, service entities, agri businesses, financial inclusion companies. The fund seeking company at the time of investment should be unlisted and should have high growth potential so that it can scale up sufficiently within 3 - 5 years of investment so as to provide a profitable exit to investors by way an IPO, Strategic Sale, Mergers and Acquisition, etc
SVCL has created seven different kinds of funds for various sectors:
Maharashtra State Social Venture Fund (MS Fund) : This fund focuses on Health-Care, Education, Renewable & Non-Conventional Energy, Agri ancillary, Food processing Energy efficiency-transmission-distribution, Clean-Technology, Light Engineering, Information Technology, Medical Devices.
West Bengal MSME VC Fund (WB Fund): It seeks to invest in start-ups, emerging or early growth stage investments in West Bengal MSMEs both manufacturing and services. The Fund is sector agnostic, however, preference will be given to MSMEs promoted by women entrepreneurs.
TEX Fund (TF): It focusses on early and growth stage investments in Small Enterprises. Each investment will be limited to Rs 3 crore. The Fund shall look for investing in companies involved in new and emerging fields in the textile industry and allied products and services.
Samridhi Fund (SF): It seeks to provide financial assistance by way of equity or equity linked instruments (like convertible debentures, preference shares etc.) to companies with developmental impact in states of Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Chattisgarh, Jharkhand, Rajasthan and West Bengal.
India Opportunities Fund (IOF): It is structured as a unit scheme to make primarily equity or equity-related investments in the growth oriented businesses established in India.
SME Growth Fund (SGF): It seeks to provide risk capital to innovative and high technology businesses.
